we're 7 songs in with pre-production at House of Loud in NJ. this is an incredibly intense situation. David Bendeth is a spectacular producer. He digs deep into the souls of each one of us and then again collectively as Madina Lake. He is guiding us to who we are as a band and as humans. We are learning so much. i almost feel like we have gone away to college and you guys are our parents and we have so much to tell you about that it's overwhelming. we are out here trying to make you guys proud, while simultaneously going through intensive self-discovery. after writing for a few months and heading straight into the studio it feels pretty amazing to finally post some more tour dates. we get to join Soundwave again this year with Nine Inch Nails, Billy Talent, etc!! it's going to be crazy.. and we're in the studio as we speak so by the time Soundwave comes around we'll be finished recording Attics and hopefully bringing it with us.hope everything kicks ass with you guys and we will see you as soon as we get out of this studio! xo MADINA Soundwave '09

a common tradition in the hindu pantheist belief system is to give a gift upon every occasion of greeting or saying goodbye to someone.
in honoring that, we made "caught somewhere in time" available for download.
its the best we could do, we're straight up out of loot.
off to NJ to begin working on Attics.

hey RPhey it's matthew, i just wanted to write you all a quick note. sorry we haven't been in touch as per usual, but i'm sure you all know the reason. our heads are buried in the stars while our arms are swiping at every bit of inspiration and knowledge that we can, so we can apply to making you guys the best possible experience with attics. once we go to new jersey to track it, i promise we will be blogging and posting videos so you can experience the whole thing as we do. endless adoration to each one of you! Iron Maiden cover "Caught Somewhere In Time" posted!!ok so we finally got around to posting this track. we recorded it in our rehearsal spot for a Kerrang! Iron Maiden compilation called Maiden Heaven. (why? because Kerrang! is the most bad ass magazine there is and Iron Maiden is the most bad ass band of all time!) .. anyways, there are 2 schools of thought on cover songs. some people think you should try to make sound exactly like the original. but what fun is there in that? we think that cover songs should be a bands interpretation of that song in their own style to pay hommage and appreciate to the original artist. you simply can not beat the original version so the goal is to reinvent it to the best of your ability and make it your own. so here it is kids .. go check it out ! btw we officially start tracking ATTICS TO EDEN Sept. 20th... pardon my french but holy shit are we excited .. talk soon!! xoxo MADINA LAKE New pictures from Katie Anderson.
